A dedicated programme to help support employee financial wellbeing in the workplace

The Financial Champion course is a half-day training to help equip your nominated members of staff to support colleagues from the "shop floor" up.


Money worries are a significant cause of longer term stress, so by having an ear to the ground you can stay ahead of the game and give your teams the confidence that there's someone there who has their back.

This easily accessible half day course will give a solid foundation in gaining the skills to be that Financial Champion in your organisation.

Suitable for businesses and organisations of all sizes.

A Financial Champion® is not a financial expert -

but someone who can recognise financial stress, respond appropriately, and guide others to the right support.

We offer two delivery options for trainees:

Delivered online, with no minimum number of delegates - Ideal for small and medium businesses who may not have a large workforce, or significant wellbeing budget.

Delivery in person, at selected locations, your premises or other location arranged by you - this training can be incorporated into wellbeing weeks, awayday events, your annual conference or as a standalone training event.

Our team will deliver a half day of training targeted at improving financial education, budgeting skills, signposting, and helping employees to handle financial matters with sensitivity and respect.

The training is engaging and interactive, with practical skills to take away.

No previous financial experience is needed - the training is designed for everyone to access.

At the end of the day your chosen Financial Champion will receive a physical and digital certificate - a physical certificate to display in your workplace to help assure your team members - and a digital certificate to showcase your commitment to employee wellbeing on your digital platforms!

We will provide regular updates based on changes in the economy, legislation etc that may impact your teams, so that your Financial Champions are always up to date.

A Financial Champion is a dedicated, trained person in the team, equipped to be the first port of call when it comes to financial worries- like a First Aider but for money stresses!

Champions who know the signs to look for, the things to listen out for, and then to be able to offer basic, but sound, support in helping colleagues deal with their money worries.

Whether that means sitting down and working out budgets together, being able to direct them to more specialist support, or simply being the person who your colleagues feel safe to say "I'm struggling" to, and who can then sit over a cuppa to create that immediate sense of relief.

At the Financial Wellbeing Academy, we want to eliminate financial stresses in the workplace, creating a culture where talking about money is not to be feared, by either employee or employer.

We know that the links between financial stresses and mental health issues are significant, so we encourage employers not to look at either one in isolation.
